Agraria will be the space for artistic production and cooperation between three professional organizations based in Novi Sad: DANS - Association of Architects of Novi Sad, SULUV - Association of Fine Arts of Vojvodina and UPIDIV - Association of artists in applied arts and designers from Vojvodina.

Agraria será el espacio de producción artística y cooperación entre tres organizaciones profesionales con sede en Novi Sad: DANS - Asociación de Arquitectos de Novi Sad, SULUV - Asociación de Bellas Artes de Vojvodina y UPIDIV - Asociación de artistas de artes aplicadas y diseñadores de Vojvodina.

SITE

An industrial heritage complex located on Lasla Gala Street, no. 32 (known locally as “Elektrolux”), in the space of the former German cooperative “Agraria”. The building was built between 1939 and 1940 and is a representative example of modernist commercial/industrial architecture in Novi Sad.

The building was emptied out a few years after the war and used as a warehouse. Since the beginning of the 1950s when it was renewed and partially expanded, it has been used as a small craft-industrial workshop which processed and stored metal.

EMPLAZAMIENTO

Un complejo de patrimonio industrial situado en la calle Lasla Gala, nº. 32 (conocida localmente como "Elektrolux"), en el espacio de la antigua cooperativa alemana "Agraria". El edificio se construyó entre 1939 y 1940 y es un ejemplo representativo de la arquitectura comercial/ industrial modernista de Novi Sad.

El edificio se vació pocos años después de la guerra y se utilizó como almacén. Desde principios de la década de 1950, cuando se renovó y amplió parcialmente, se ha utilizado como pequeño taller artesanal-industrial que procesaba y almacenaba metal.

CONCEPT

We have the opportunity to create a project that looks to the present and to the future. The idea is to maintain a constant relationship between public and private, to establish a strong cultural life within Agraria by connecting it in the future with the rest of the neighborhood. It must become like a beating heart. 

Thanks to the large windows on the ground floor, on the main facade, a constant connection will be established between passers-by and artists. The internal courtyard of Agraria, freed from the accumulated added structures over the years and from what is not relevant, will be the central space of the lot where you can carry out collective and design activities. 

Rational architecture is our strong point, the main facade strongly expresses this character and by prolonging the first floor you can get a single windowed facade that reflects a strong constructive intention. 

The neighborhood has a compact shape with regards to buildings, this helps to clearly divide inside from outside. Thanks to a large courtyard inside the neighborhood, thinking about the future, can be created a cultural district.

CONCEPTO

Tenemos la oportunidad de crear un proyecto que mira al presente y al futuro. La idea es mantener una relación constante entre lo público y lo privado, establecer una vida cultural fuerte dentro de Agraria conectándola en el futuro con el resto del barrio. Debe llegar a ser como un corazón palpitante. 

Gracias a los grandes ventanales de la planta baja, en la fachada principal, se establecerá una conexión constante entre los transeúntes y los artistas. El patio interior de Agraria, liberado de las estructuras añadidas acumuladas a lo largo de los años y de lo que no es relevante, será el espacio central del solar donde se podrán llevar a cabo actividades colectivas y de diseño. 

La arquitectura racional es nuestro punto fuerte, la fachada principal expresa fuertemente este carácter y prolongando la primera planta se consigue una fachada de una sola ventana que refleja una fuerte intención constructiva. 

El barrio tiene una forma compacta con respecto a los edificios, esto ayuda a dividir claramente el interior del exterior. Gracias a un gran patio en el interior del barrio, pensando en el futuro, se puede crear un barrio cultural.
